VIETNAM - LAOS - CAMBODIA LOOP
Day 1 - Lao Bao - Savannakhet
Pick up at Lao Bao immigration (Lao side). Meet
local English Speaking Guide. After clearance at
Immigration, drive through the DMZ
(Demilitarized Zone) and scene of the Vietnam
War's most famous siege( Khe Sanh ) we forge
onwards to the sleepy French Colonial Town of
Savannakhet on the Mekong. The drive takes all
day, passing through some wonderfully typical
Laos countryside and parts of the Ho Chi Minh

destination in Laos but is really worth a
stopover to recharge the batteries and sip a
beer in one of the town's colonial cafe's.

Islands (Khong Island) to begin the river
section of the journey and what you're sure all
will feel is one of highlights of the trip.

you may cycle around the Islands or take the
opportunity to get on a longtail boat with
guide. Apart from that you will just soak it all
up. It is also possible to take boat out of the
southern tip of the island to see the last few
Irruwaddy dolphins in Indochina (If you're very
lucky). Beautiful walks around. Overnight at
