Chaungtha beach

One beach resort that has gained fame and popularity since 1990 is the Chaungtha (pleasant Stream) Beach Resort. Chaungtha beach is located 32 mile to the west of Pathein (Bassein) in Ayeyarwaddy Division. The best way to get to Chaungtha is by car from Yangon. Yangon to Pathein about 4-hour drive for 115 mile through delta regions of Ayeyarwaddy division and Pathein to Chaung-tha takes about 2 hours. A regular double-decker boat leaves Yangon about 4 pm every evening and reaches Pathein early in the next day. Due to nearest and easy accessible from Yangon, Chaungtha beach receive more local visitors annually.


Day 1 Yangon to Chaungtha by car


Our driver will meet you at your hotel and depart after breakfast. About 4 and half hour drive to Pathin. Cross Ayeyarwaddy River over Bo-Myat-Tun Bridge, second longest one in Myanmar 8544 feet. Proceed to Pathein.
There is Pathein (Nawun) River to cress over Pathin Bridge. After Pathin river to beach will take only an hour drive. The road will be a crossing over western mountain range about 1500 feet above sea. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 2 beach


Leisure.
There is opportunity to stroll along the seashore and visit nearby villages to sample the local cuisine, and buy trinkets and ornaments fashioned from sea shells, cowries, mother of pearl, huge rock-shrimp and crabs, fossilized marine flora and unusual coral formations etc. to take back as souvenirs or presents upon your departure.


Day 3 Chaungtha beach - Yangon

After lunch drive back to Yangon along same road. Pathein sightseeing includes ShweMoutHtaw Pagoda, PhaungtawU Pagoda, Traditional bamboo umbrellas factory and Pathin market.
